I spend almost three years traveling the country for AT&T.  At that time AT&T (The Bell System) had a monopoly on Telephone Service.

At that time my partner John Goudie and I were both providing AT&T  with technical services for their many, many nation wide Trade Show events.

Every company in business needed phones and almost every business attended a national Trade Show for their industry.

Our company John Goudie Associated provided the man power to setup, plug in and attend over 100 events each year.

Since I was divorced at the time, I decided to purchase an RV and tow my 924 Porche with me to attend about 25 different shows I attended each year.  Most of my time was spend out west and I had first choice in selecting which shows I wanted to attend.

During those three years I had a totally delightful time of learing all about the latest products being introduced to that particular Industry.  AT&T attended every Industry show in America.

Setting up these beautiful booths and telephone equipment was a totally enjoyable job.  Once I had everything up and operational I had plenty of free time to visit all the other booths and learn all about their latest products being introduced.  My time was mine as long as I checked back at the AT&T booth every 30 minutes or so.  Back in the 70's we didn't have smartphones or computers.

On a number of shows for AT&T we were showing their Picturephone of the time.  It created lots of interest but most women felt they would need to check their makeup and how they were dressed before answering that kind of new phone.
