Y2K, How was the world going to survive?  Any of you forty and over will probably remember the world wide computer panic known as the "Millennium bug" it was predicted to shut down all computers at midnight on 1/1/2000.

After Kassie and I got married 1/23/1999 we had more than eleven months to consider what might happen with the Y2K situation. It might be really, really bad for our nation or maybe nothing?  We finally decided to purchase a beautiful RV and truck and spend the rest of the year traveling and visiting our family and friends.




Our 5th wheel had all the luxuries of a deluxe hotel suite and it was off-the-grid with our own electric generator.  Even if the worst happened we would be ready.

 

Those nine months on the road were a true gift from God.  We had the time to visit everyone we knew so that each of us could introduce our friends and family to our new mates.  We saw the whole country, all the way to Seattle and back again to Maine.  Our journey ended in EllijayGeorgia at the Mata-Rosa Ranch.  My daughter Noelle and her then husband Jessie along with his parents, Tony and Gloria had a perfect campsite for our big rig.  The next two months was just to relax and enjoy the beautiful fall scenery and play with our grandkids, Grant and Sarah.

Safe and secure on that last hour of 1999 we all watched on TV the big New York City New Years Eve ball drop in Time Square.  What was going to happen? 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.. Happy New Year!  ? ? ?  Everything was still working...the people in Time Square were still cheering, the TV was still working, the lights in the neighborhood were still on.  The year 2000 had arrived without any problem.  Y2K was being reported as a big to do about nothing.  Thank you Jesus for keeping us safe.
